Students get their
admission into the four-year B.Sc. Engineering degree course in the
various Engineering departments and Business department and in the
five-year architecture course in the course through an open admission
test. Candidates for admission into the B.Sc. Engg., BBA and the B.
Arch. courses must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
examination (Science group for engg. & arch) after twelve years of
schooling or its equivalent. Students are generally selected on the
basis of the result of the admission test. Students would give option
for any of the branches of engineering viz. Computer Science &
Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering,
Architecture during admission.

The selected candidates are then required to get them selves
admitted depositing the requisite
fees
within the specified time to be mentioned in the notice. If any
applicant fails to get admitted in the specified time, he forfeits
his candidature for admission and his seat will be considered as
vacant and the applicants from the waiting will be given chance to
get admission against those vacant seats.

Foreign students
willing to get admission in any program of this University should
apply through their respective Embassies. They need not require
appearing at the admission test. But they should apply with all
particulars including educational back ground to assess their
eligibility.

Their admission will be confirmed after payment of requisite
fees
and approval of the Govt. of Bangladesh.
The qualifying
requirements for the admission test for subsequent entry in the
courses are as follows:

Minimum of 50% of
marks in Secondary School Certificate (10 years of schooling
equivalent to Matriculation) examination .

Minimum of 55% of
marks in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and
Mathematics and not less than 45% marks in each of these subjects
separately in the Higher Secondary Certificate examination.
The Academic
Council of the University frames the detailed rules of admission for
each academic session. Usually, the notice for admission is advertised
in the local newspapers soon after the results of the HSC examinations
are announced. Application forms and any other information may be
obtained from the Academic Section of the Registrar's Office.
